Credentials

I became certified in personal training in 2004 by WITS using materials developed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). This certification course is an intensive program with classroom and hands-on practical skills training. All coursework is done in person and certification is granted by passing a thorough written and practical exam.

In order to maintain my certification I must continue to take courses to stay current in the field of fitness. My continuing education credentials include stability ball specialist, nutritional analysis for health and weight management, self defense and cardio boxing.

Idea Certified Personal Fitness Trainer The WITS. course and certification is acknowledged in IDEA’s Personal Fitness Trainer Recognition System for its comprehensive preparation of fitness training skills along with a trainer’s commitment to ongoing education and the highest ethical standards. IDEA is the world’s leading membership organization of health and fitness professionals.

I have studied martial arts and yoga for many years. I have found that incorporating martial arts, yoga and pilates in my programs helps to increase strength, flexibility, balance and core strength.
